Observation:
Initial few minutes of setting up the stall. It was around 615 pm and customers thronged in the shop and placed their orders.
Talked to 2-3 customers and asked for their feedback about the stall and the product/service offered.
Customers were happy and satisfied about the hygienic conditions under which the food stuff were prepared.
Spent around 45 minutes discussing with the salesman and then assisted in taking orders from customers and serving them.
I went home and came back around 930 pm when the crowd was less and started speaking to the salesman about his other activities. He had been involved in helping his cousin in selling vada and idlis. It was sold home-to-home delivery in bicycles.
He used to do this before putting up the present dosa stall. He used to prepare idlis and vadas and take them in his bicycle and shout to the people and sell them at their homes.
He had to compete with fellow vendors and somehow earned lots and set up this hand-cart idli-dosa shop.
