Two days back I went to Santa-Cruz to meet my friend Prateek, who was leaving for
Bangalore. While i was on my way to Santa- Cruz I met a salesman who was selling
pirated Cd's & Dvd's at a very reasonable rate.I wanted to interview this guy but the
question was how to interview him.
When he came in front of me with bunch of Cd's & Dvd's I spoke to him politely and asked that
will he allow me to take his interview. Initially, he was quite surprised
but at the same time curious to be interviewed. Even though I could not get the opportunity of
asking him too many question's but whatever I could gather I am sharing my experience a day
with this salesman.
This guy Manoj in the mid 20's had been in this profession for the last eight months. I began
asking him as to why did he chose this profession and he replied saying that
this is a profession where we do not require a large investment or capital. He further added
saying that the product being cheaper ,it was easy to convince the customer's.
After this I asked him as to how many CD'S & DVD'S did he sell and
he said 50 to 60 in a day. To add to it further I asked him as to how do you convince your
customer's to buy your product and he replied saying “ Is me sikhna kya hai bass hume
customer ko samajhna hota hai "
When he went away I kept on thinking that do we really require an
MBA degree to become a good salesman.
Really! do we require MBA???????.....
