Being a big fan of 'paani puri' I interviewed my favorite selu(Gangadar) who made me change my loyalty from another shop to his shop and this happened without my consciousness.Just because of this reason, I admitted myself as a student to all selus of the world.To admit the fact he was such a welcoming person though the time of interview was very late as its the time he closes down his 'sales point'.So the conversation goes like this,
Me: So hows the business today
Selu:Fine sir,so came at the right time,what do you want to ask me(with a smile at 11pm)
Me:How did you select this kind of business out of all other kinds?
Selu: Sir,this paani puri business is very fast moving and is in the heart of every Mumbaikar.
Me:How did you face the competition as there are lot of guys selling paani puri?
Selu:Sir,as you know I was selling at Rs.2 less than others which attracted a huge crowd and once this was done I improved the taste and price.The location near little world was a great help for my sales which attracted a lot of couples and thereby attracted others too.Basically I give very tasty food and may be that is why people come to me.
Me:So how long have you been into business?
Selu:I have gone to all parts of India for selling sofa material and know 7 languages to speak , can understand 9 languages and that's is the reason I could understand the people's expectations.My life into sales has been around 7 years and lately settled down with this business.
Me:How do you maintain your taste which is very important?
Selu:Sir, I order my stuff daily ,it becomes hard to do but this is why the food is fresh as ever.
After all these conversations,I felt myself lost in the world.I personally was a salesman for two years but its in such moments that one sees the ocean lying ahead.
