One day in the shoes of a Salesman

“Some people beat this word ‘diligence’ and ‘commitment’ towards work and surpass every odds to reach the zenith of success.”

Now, this is a very recent event for my usually short lasting memory. 15 of our RMM students including me went for 5 day Big Bazaar training during the “Sabse saste 5 din” from 24th-29th January 2012. I was allotted Men’s Formals Section and I worked under the Category Manager Mr. Gaurav for 5 days. When I saw him for the first time, he was easily the thinnest guy I had met till date. But his diligence is something which I found was remarkable. For a person who comes at 8 in the morning for store pre-opening preparation and leaves at 1 a.m at night after global counting, “hard work” is a term that would underrate his efforts. I was fortunate to work under him for 5 days. For a category manager that works as a folder, performs paging, lifts the cartoons and stands continuously for 10 hours, sometimes even skipping lunch and snacks where he could have simply supervised the departmental manager and the section subordinates, zeal and convincing power is what makes him an exemplary employee.

Days went like a whisker working under him and self motivation is what that sets him apart…
