This is a story about a person who is my soul and everything. He is none other than my dad. He started his life as a salesman cum owner of a small shop at the age of 19. He came to a strange place 100 km away from his village. He hired a small shop and he sold sewing machines. He used to sleep inside the same shop. During weekends, he used to take one sewing machine in the cycle and go to in and around areas and he used to sell. The main aim of him was not to sell more machines, just to sell less but to give proper service to them.
Initially he used to sell maximum of 1 or 2 per month, then as he provided proper, low cost service and at any time, he got the loyalty of the customers. After 4 years he started to include some more products and he started selling them. His main strength was his loyalty and pleasing approach towards the customer. Then he hired two labours to take care of sales and service but still he used to take care of the sales. As the customers were very loyal to him, the approached him rater than his employees. He is a salesman who treat his customers as Gandhi said. He was bad in English and Hindi but he still managed to buy sewing machine from Gwalior at cheap price and he improved his business. After 10 years he started to sell all the basic home appliances and became one of the major seller in the town.
But uptill today he is treating the customers in the same manner as he was treating them in the beginning. He remembers all the name of the customers and the main thing he even remembers most of thier contact number. He never let any customer to go out of the shop without purchasing. The customers will be just purchasing whatever he tells. Now he is the top seller in the town with a turnover of around 30lakhs per month. The only reason for this is HE. As I mentioned in the heading he can even sell a refrigerator to eskimos.
